snow days in the city

There's not very many things that rank higher on my "awesome list" (c'mon it's a real thing) than a snow day. The surprise of magically being gifted time, combined with the glorious lack of obligation to do anything with that time is a beautiful thing. Snow days create an extra Saturday in the middle of the week. I'm sure Storm Stella caused a lot of trouble for many people (one of which was our Airbnb guest whose flight was delayed 2 days!), but it sure made this teacher's heart happy!

I'm in the middle of "testing season" at the charter school I teach at. Which basically just means longer, more stressful days. I've also been feeling really under the weather & missing Tyler (he's in Mexico right now, the lucky dog). When my teacher friend, Sora (she teaches science), told me yesterday that we would have a snow day today, I literally screamed in the hallway!

At first I thought, "great - now I can spend the whole day working on to dos and accomplishing goals!" But then I was like "Hold up. Pause button. I get stuff done all day erry day. I'm gonna go ahead and have a day with NO obligation." So I slept in til 11, did lazy yoga with Sora , baked cookies, played a board game, hung with my pup, took some photos, and cooked dinner *ahhhh the sweet things in life* At the end of a day where I checked literally nothing off my list... my mind is happier, my body is healthier, and somehow, i still feel accomplished! Hashtag YAY.

can you tell how crappy it is out there? this snow was no where near the fluffy cotton balls in utah.
